Hello All,

New version, but as I changed the image size, I had to do a completely new entry and thus it deleted the comments

Some of the old critiques and version can be seen at Poseidon's arm

Here are the last modifications:

-I added some foam...don't know if it looks better than before so I need your help!

-I also drew a black line around the arm. I made it thicker in this version

-I also rotated the arm on the right...don't know if it was what was meant by some people.

-I am sorry for the other comments I did not take into acount. Some where good and I tried to apply the advices, but wether I was not able or it does not look that good, I didn't put them on this version.

much better then your other versions seems like a new design entirely. There is something that bothers me though and it is the waves at the top of the hand when waves move im seeing it in a more fluid motion as in following the arm rather then going straight up. other then that is great if you can make it more fluid you'll have a 5 from me :)

I wish the boat was drawn a little better. The sails are fine, but (looking at the closeup) the roughness/sketchiness of the boat doesn't match up with the rest of the design, which is drawn a lot cleaner.

I love the wave and also the spiral texture. But I would work a little with the hand. I think it needs to look stronger or maybe more curved towards the ship. Great concept, love it.

I like the japanese influence with the carton twist it comes together with very casual elegance.

what if the hand was coming out of the sea like a wave, rather than being the whole sea, so it's more subtle? dunno.

Well, thanks everybody for the comments, here are a few answers:

-As for the arm looking more like a wave, I did that at first and after lots of people told me it does not look like an arm, I changed it and had to agree with that people, so I will let this as it is I think.

-As for the boat, the messy drawing was made on purpose at first, but I guess that with all the design modifications I conducted after that, it doesn't make sense anymore, so I will try to make it more clear and see how it appears.

-As for the hand, I like the form of it and the fact that the pattern is exactly the same as in the arm (same way too), but I will try to correct some little things.



If anyone has other critiques, feel free to let me know!!!

One more thing it truly is your design and to a point critiques are helpful but after awhile they can be so nitpicky that instead of moving your drawing forward it moves it back a step, so do what my point is it is your art and you should do exactly what you feel is right while heeding some thoughts :)

Well, thank you for the advice...the thing is that most of the critiques I had had since now were justified and helped me improve my design.

I think I will just give a few more try and then submit it.

i like your wind. it looks nice. but i dont like the patern on the hand. its looks a little bit mesy.

Here is the new version (and I hope, the last ;) )

I changed a few things:

-I re-draw the boat, visible on the closer view

-I did some modification on the hand (pattern)

I really like the pattern, it looks like fish scales. To add to the effect, what if there was some white-wash on the hand as well as the wave?

Your last version was fine but this one is even stronger! Watch your placement on the shirt because you want to enhance the storm effect by that. I recall that the deleted version was nicely set to work with the sleeve seams in a live-model photo.

hey there. Cool concept...but I think your illustration needs more flow....the lines look too rigid to me....

the hand seems to be confining the sea, what if the hand was coming out of a larger body of sea like a wave or something.

Cool concept, and I agree that the deisgn feels a little rigid, mainly on the left side. I think adding the white wave crest around the bottom of the boat could help it fit in more. The texture is cool.. reminds me of old grecian art, which is very appropriate for this piece.

I didn't go through all the versions of the original critique, but this looks the best so far. I think I'd try just two slightly different shades of blue for the pattern, to make it more subtle. anyways, cool idea and well drawn. Not sure what else to add, but you could try a few clouds or seagulls.

There are not a lot of new things on this version, not that I didn't try, but I was not satisfied with the results (I tried to add foam at the bottom of the boat but that didn't look good unless I modified the pattern which I don't want to)



I only changed the boat position and orientation as well as the design placement on the tshirt.



I think I will push this version into the running unless you find something brilliant I will be able to implement ;)

The foam looks way better now than before, great work!

Dunno about that black line though, its supposed to resemble waves but making a line around it makes it seem even moore like a flat arm-texture. Why not do the arm more watery, like the foam in a way, more splashing. Now it's a arm with water on it. Could it be water resembeling a arm? Just thinking out loud :)

The dark shadow part of the wave is too gray, try either dark blue, or blue-ish gray. Even light gray... other than theat, awesome design.

I think I will try some other colours and then solicit you for a vote on your favorite colour set.

A litlle advise: at some point you need the be less insecure and stand up for your own oppinion. Make some dicisions of your own.

There are some things I think I won't change, even if there are critiques about it (such as the arm looking mor like the sea...I don't want to change that, because my first idea really was to have an arm)

It might connect the inhumanity (godlike) of Poseidon with something small, delicate and human.

The second version's contrast looks so nice, that one for sure! Outside of the things people have said to change that you wont change, I don't see much left to change, so I think you should be ready to sub very soon!

Cool idea! I agree that your second version's colors look best with the gray shirt. Although, the third button on v4 might look good on olive or army green.

Hey guys,

Sorry to come back with this already submitted design, but I think I may be able to improve it to re-submit it.

Here is a new version where I added some texture to the boat sails and changed the sea pattern to fishes.

Off course, it is just a beginning as I didn't want to spend hours on this if these modifications are not enough to re-submit this to the votes.

What do you think of the idea, of the first sketches...do I have to do bigger fishes and less of them, or more little one, but more of them?
