Holy sugar high! Threadcakes 2009 contest!

Ladies and gents, preheat your ovens! Threadcakes 2009 is here! Last year was great but we have a feeling this year the cake's gonna hit the pan like crazy. Just transform one of your favorite Threadless designs into a beautiful cake. Then send in the pics to threadcakes (check it out for more details). Lovesthreadless.com aka disillusioned is the mastermind behind this contest - we thank him for being so awesome and one of Threadless' biggest supporters (perhaps even our #1 fan? or is it you?).

The judges are impressive and will be a very tough crowd wethinks so bake your best. Check out the lineup:

There are two categories - 2D and 3Dimensional. And tons of amazing booty to each category winner - including loads of baking amazingness from King Arthur Flour, fancy flours, Guittard Chocolate, as well as Threadless giveaways.

People from outside the US is a good question; I need to check to see what our prize providers are down with, with regard to shipping and such. You're more than welcome to enter, but I can't guarantee that every prize will make it your way. The GCs would definitely, though!

I know, I still can't believe they're totally food--the pics showed her with some toothpicks, but a closer inspection revealed she was just popped them into place and then pulling the picks out--she has another photo of her eating their adorable little selves completely.



I'm going to be revealing a LOT more on the site VERY soon. I just needed to sleep and had a hellish weekend with my real job. :-)

YtFeLMi, if you were on Facebook or AIM, I would tell you the super secret possible top prize for 3D cakes that we haven't announced because I'm not 100% sure yet...



But you're not, so I won't.



Guys, if you're having trouble with activation still, just let me know. I will help you out; I'm so sorry there was a bug in the template that went out, but I was on like... 2 hours of sleep and worked all weekend. (Not on Threadcakes; that was just from 2am-8am this morning. :p)

Discontinued designs are totally fine, so long as they were printed at some point.



There will be a list of ALL historic prints and you'll be picking from that dropdown.

Also, I'd love to encourage you guys to do cake parties. Have friends over and have them help you bake an awesome cake. It's really a lot of fun, and a lot of people did it last year.



Remember, the contest goes through August 3rd so that you have seven weekends to work on!

Valor: There were some bugs while we were moving code over.



You should be able to sign up just fine now, but we're still not accepting uploads for another day or two. (Gotta get the image uploading stuff tested and ready.)

This is such an awesome contest. I only wish it was held during cooler weather. The 100 degree heat and humidity keeps ruining my fondant and I can't get my icing to firm up properly
