I would like to invite you to take part in a new collaborative visual book called Grab Bag.

It is a book about trying something new. It is about exploring your creativity and learning to do new things. It is about opening up to a new idea and gaining respect for it. It's a book of visual creations by people from around the world that have come together through the exploration of new things to create something beautiful.

This is how it works...

Each participating artist will have a "creative task" from the Grab Bag chosen at random for them. The result of the creative task will be published in the book. The only rule is that your creative task can't be from your field of work or your area of expertise because the book is about learning to do new things with your creativity and exploring new ways of expressing yourself. Furthermore, each artist will have the option to also contribute a piece of their work that comes from the area of expertise. It could be something already created or something made specifically for the book. You can see the full list on the website.

So i Just spent a while working on this design. It is my second one that has got declined. Now the first one I can admit was probably poorly designed but this one I feel wasn't.

I am confused about the design file that has to be 640 x 480 pixel gif ( It says "Only 640 x 480 pixel gif and swf files under 70kb created from our templates with 4 or less unique colors will be accepted" ) I dont see people really using exactly the template. Fore example at h

Just wanted to make sure something like this wouldn't be rejected and wondering what the purpose of the pattern is if people dont really use it. Thanks for the help in advance.
Sorry for the newbie question. I drew out my design on paper and scanned it into the computer. Then I put it in Illustrator and used live trace and live paint. However the lines are all messed up and I cant figure out how to smooth them out. In certain areas they are thick and in other areas they are thin. When I zoom in everything is extremely choppy with so many points. I was thinking that there might be some tools that I dont know about or arent using the right way or maybe I was supposed to do something before I did the live trace. Thanks everyone in advance for the much need help.
