well, it seems 2 more of my designs aren't getting printed. oh well. better luck next time. (i've had no formal training on art don't hate me >__<)
i'm bored. its 3:27am. i have insomnia. my buddylist is dead except for one friend who's vacationing in korea at the moment where it is 4:20pm. my xanga is down since the server i'm using is going through maintainance. so what's up people. how many puffs does it take to get to the moon? ![]() Uncle Martha, at 6:33pm on Jun 27, 2005 I think you owe Dave Chappelle $20. "These are new white people, ya can't scare these white people. I tried! I roll up on 'em, 'BOO!' They go, 'what the hell's wrong with you? Those days are over!'" Good illustration, but the word bubbles are clunky and the font isn't a particularly good choice. personally, i don't know what episode or show he's quoting, but what the hell? is the whole english language copyrighted? what's going on? yesterday my friend said "OH SHIT" i guess, i can't say that anymore either. or perhaps i should start quoting him. hmm.
not to hate on any new members on threadless, but i've noticed that a lot of the people who leave comments about a shirt design are members who have just joined recently. most of them have just joined threadless this month. member for a few days / weeks.
also, most of them are giving an average score of 4.0++ and have never submitted a design. this isn't necessarily bad, but i wish that more experienced threadless-ers would leave their thoughts and suggestions about a design without being too sarcastic and rash.

Okay, as expected, my iRock shirt has developed a negative fan base. Hate comments are always fun to read and I share them with you now. motorama, at 12:17pm on Jun 22, 2005 "iSTOLE. Steve Jobs paid a lot of money for this campaign--of course it's nice... " -- iSTOLE :: well that's original too. next. swingliner, at 5:01pm on Jun 19, 2005 "i don't think i get this at all. correct me if i'm wrong but basically you're using someone else's design and concept except you added a little word play?" -- isn't that how spoofs work? it wouldn't be a spoof if the idea wasn't spun off another idea. next. turkeymonkey, at 11:22pm on Jun 22, 2005 "what, am i an ad for ipod? i don't like this at all. very dated design." -- this last one isn't so bad, but neither is it constructive. anyway, it's still ammusing. Side note :: this made me crack up when i saw it. www.iriver.com www.iriveramerica.com iRiver - it seems Microsoft is in on the iPod spoofs too. I reckon hicks listen to mp3s down yonder river.
it sux when people come up with all these great ideas that could be awesome but then soon realize that it's been done before. then people get intimidated to explore their ideas in the fear of being labeled as a biter/rip-off even though it's possible to execute the same idea in a better, more unique way.
i think my imagination is lagging. i'm gonna go tie my left shoe first and see if that helps me come up with something more original. bleh. |
