awesome shirt!
hmmmm.. has been in the running for 4 days. takes that long to print the shirts. So either they saw it on his website and asked him to submit it, or it was literally approved the second it came in. I'm going with the former seeing as he just joined and this is his first submission. If this is true, then it's a bit fishy, hey it's your company, Threadless, but at least be upfront about it. Art can't be timeless. It can only be relevant for a short or long period of time, and this is hugely relevant! It is a bold statement of cultural production and I'm refreshed to see real art on a T-shirt (no offense to pretty and clever things, I love them too). It skipped scoring exactly because art is timely. Every bit of it that has had an impact in our world coincided with perfect timing. |

This is an incredibly ludicrous comment. If this was remotely true, no museum on earth would feature work older than a decade. Art matters because people appreciate what makes it creative and worthwhile throughout demographics and even time periods. Sometimes the history plays a role in its importance, but the artistry is not fixed in a moment in time. Of course, given the incredible fizzle that the overhyped "opt out" day brought, it is questionable if this topic is even timely, let alone timeless. |

I suspect that's an issue that's going to have relevance for many years going forward and may even be one of the defining issues of our time.
