I'm guessing the number of guys who would wear this shirt are pretty low but it's my hope that there are enough girls voting to make a difference.



There's no reason that threadless should ONLY print unisex shirts.

Yeh I think it seems like its aimed more at men because youre saying women only have money on the mind when they're meeting a new bloke. The only girly part is the heart and it wouldn't bother me wearing a heart on a T shirt. I really like it.

Not wild about the dollar signs, but being married to an engineer, the rest of it strikes a chord with me!

Being a female engineer, the $$$ make me sad. Men are smart and women are only interested in money? (Which they can't make themselves?) I like the style and I think this has real potential, but I'm going to have to give it a 1 just because I disagree with the message so much. Please keep trying though!

i thought this picture was a metaphor for the girls who hang around tech companies and want to score a young, rich, naive guy. The boy sees friend and talks wire. The girl sees money and talks love. And somehow it all works out, for the moment....

Dude holy crap. You think women want to promote the dumbass notion that women are all gold diggers? I'm really starting to get annoyed at the depiction of women on threadless submission forum. At least Threadless itself is smart enough not to print this stuff.

I love the style. It's cute and retro. It's such a shame that it's wasted on the message that all women are gold-diggers after rich engineers.



It staggers me that you think women would actually want to wear this too. Why would I want to promote the idea that I'm a brainless, gold-digging chick who can't earn her own living?

To everyone who finds this insulting, I appologize. It wasn't my intention at ALL to make women appear as "gold diggers." My intentions for the design (which obviously didn't work too well) were to play off the cliches that we all too often hear about. Women being the loving ones (and yes.. who like money to come along with their men) and men to think about useless things (ie. the gears grinding away while he talks nonsense).



It's obviously caused quite a stir here on threadless and it came quite unexpectedly. When I finished the design, I thought it was cute, not disrepectful.



So again. I appologize.

just to help you out (defending your idea), the reason why i also did a 'goldigger' themed shirt was because in many relationships i have seen and/or been in with, money seems to buy love... the guy wants his girl to love him more, so he buys her all sorts of fancy things to hope that she wont stray away to a better guy... while the girl (most of us in one point or another in our lives) stayed just a bit longer for more lovely gifts... i was only making a shirt of things ive seen, and im sure its the same way for you too.



the goldigger thing goes both ways, but women (from what ive seen) seem to be better at taking advantage of it. after all, my parents want me to marry a rich doctor or lawyer (haha... never!)...



by the way, im a girl myself.

I'd wear this just to make feminists cry.

....I think it's as much a hit to the guys -- saying they're machines and all. I'm a girl, and a feminist, and I'm kinda hurt to see the way the male is portrayed as well. Men have feelings, too! They're not machines!



...Or... something. I like the style, it just seems like there's a bit too much.

Nice style, terrible message. It's not clear that it's playing off of an old stereotype, it just seems like you're stating that women are gold diggers mooching off of intelligent men. No thanks.
