I've seen tons of shirts with the Konami Code presented in one format or another. Never on threadless, but on plenty of gamer websites. I like the idea, but you lose points for originality.

Yeah, after I posted this a friend pointed me to a shirt with a similar theme on the web. But it was friggin ugly too. But perhaps Threadless isn't the best venue for gamer shirts.

points for execution, but not for originality.

I'd buy it anyway. Especially if it were printed in another color, as I hate dark greys.

yes, ive seen this shirt design a bazillion times, but never with the entire directional pad, and the correct directions lit up like some sort of contra dance dance revolution! I've never bought one of the shirts b/c i always thought they were uglier than the final boss of this classic side-scroll killer, but this one would be the one i would finally rock around town to show people how out of touch i am with modern gaming, and damned proud of it! Ah, flashing back to a time when it wasn't just about automatic saves and lives actually mattered in a videogame...4 bucks contracash.

Actually, whoever designed those "contra code" t-shirts obviously didn't play the game much, because the code is "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A. The select and start are NOT part of the code, start just begins the game, and the select button is only if you want to switch to 2-player mode. Those shirts always make me cringe, and I would be ashamed to wear it with the wrong code on it. The select, start part doesn't actually bother me, because that's the way I entered it MOST of the time anyways, but the fact that they left out the extra B, A is just dumb. Attention to detail is EVERYTHING.
